Stage Blanket Crate has been on rue de la Roquette since 2011. We sell recording equipment, and more to the point we let people use it: two treated listening rooms, microphones patched and ready, and enough time on a Tuesday afternoon to compare three preamps on your own voice. Most bad purchases start elsewhere. Someone reads reviews, orders online, and finds out that the microphone everyone recommends does not suit the voice it has to record. An hour in a room prevents a year of regret and a resale at a loss.
The best microphone is the one that suits the voice in front of it. No comparison chart will tell you which that is.
